Hue City
Hue, the ancient city in Vietnam, comprises the old town and the new town separated by the Huong River. There are the impoverished people living on the Huong River and in the poverty area of the city. BAJ assist activities for these people to improve their living environment.

Livelihood Improvement Program in Hue
Same as in Ho Chi Minh, BAJ encourages the people with low income for promoting small-scale business and school attendance of children in the poverty area by utilizing micro-finance system. Savings among a group are also encouraged, so that people utilize the saving whenever necessary.

In addition, BAJ assist the person with sexually transmitted diseases to remedy the disease by providing the coordination with doctors, sanitation facilities and medicines. Advice for prevention is also offered.

Environmental Improvement Project
BAJ encourages the children in low-income area to organize environmental improvement activities such as separation and recycle of waste for 1,600 houses residing in the area. This activity is held in bigger scale with the cooperation of the local government. Moreover, water facilities are also improved, so that sanitation for residents has been dramatically improved.

Vocational Training Project
Some adolescents living on the River face difficulty in finding jobs since many have dropped out of schools or have never been to schools. BAJs help creating more employment opportunities by providing vocational trainings such as sewing and masonry.

Assistance in Education at Phu Binh District
BAJ organizes tutoring classes for the children at primary or junior high school levels. The main purpose is to encourage them to be more interested in attending schools. Besides, "AJIKO Fund " provides scholarship to the children hoping to receive higher education, and develops their potentiality for the future.

Activities in Environmental Education
As a part of environmental education, BAJ help the children conducting not only the separation of garbage, but also survey on city water and drainage systems and defining the problems by creating clay animation and models. One of the recent activities is to recycle garbage into compost and grow vegetables with the compost.
