2.3.1 Southeastern Program
Together with UNHCR, BAJ has been implementing "Rehabilitation and
Provision of Water Points" from June, 2004. Although this area has
more than 5,000 mm of rainfall in the rainy season (end of May to October),
people in the area face secure water shortage problem during the summer
season (March to May). BAJ provides shallow tube-wells, open dug wells,
gravity flow pipeline systems, rainwater tanks for the local community.
From 2004 to 2006, BAJ has provided more than 150 nos. of water points
in Kayin, Mon States as well as in Thaninthayi Division.
